Access control for pages: which users can edit? Everyone, only members, only users from a specific list, only me.
Use case: I just made a large edit to a page, only to notice a typo a few seconds after I save it. I'll go back and edit the page, but at that point I'll have a useless revision from before fixing the typo. I propose a feature to collapse consecutive edits by the same user if the page has not been requested in the meantime by another visitor. This will keep permalinks to the page's particular revision, working. TWiki ...more »
A "table of contents" plugin would be awesome!
Most of the time I'd use the code editor, but there's one exception: cut'n pasting text with hyperlinked substrings. Way easier to do in a WYSIWYG editor than pasting the raw text, then formatting each hyperlink (by copying the hyperlink from the source)
It would be great to have a toggle between the current above/below placement of the preview/editor, and a left/right placement for those with wide screens. A splitter in the middle would also be great.

Make sure you have the right module installed and that you use the correct "lang" parameter. Here is an example for PHP/HTML: <pre lang="PHP (HTML)"> <?php /* This is a pseudo PHP file to test Kate's PHP syntax highlighting. */ // This ...more »

The current workaround is to add '.edit' to the URL of page A.
A very cool feature, which I haven't seen in mediawiki, but I dearly want in Wikipedia, is to find out who first added a piece of text to the page. For example, at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_text_editors, I want to find out who first claimed that jEdit supports editing over SSH. MojoMojo would search back in time in the diffs, and show me the oldest diff that still contains a given text. It doesn't need ...more »
