Use case: I just made a large edit to a page, only to notice a typo a few seconds after I save it. I'll go back and edit the page, but at that point I'll have a useless revision from before fixing the typo.
I propose a feature to collapse consecutive edits by the same user if the page has not been requested in the meantime by another visitor. This will keep permalinks to the page's particular revision, working.
TWiki implements this to some extent: consecutive edits by the same user are collapsed into the last if they occur within a specified interval.
